Net Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve last game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. He won a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest enthusiasts in the world. While betting on online poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He often participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy in.
Buying in for the min takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the best players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full dollar value. I think television can skew our perception of the real world at times. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found gambling on net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in cash games?
