Net High Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve last poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He won a massive pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world. While wagering on online poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Gus frequently buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless he is flat broke, he has no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.
Buying in for the min takes most of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amount. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players in the world might just be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found playing net poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in high stakes omaha hold’em and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in money rounds?
