NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker contender on the planet by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse comments from other people destroy his goal of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

He began competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every day and is very abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes errors in each session of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a normal basis.
